The Kumasi Evangel Choir is marking a significant milestone celebrating 13 years of serving the Lord, spreading joy, and touching lives through music.
Founded in 2012, the choir has dedicated itself to evangelism through song, with a special focus on raising awareness and support for children battling cancer in Ghana.
With a repertoire that spans traditional hymns, contemporary Christian music, and indigenous cultural songs, the Kumasi Evangel Choir has become a beloved fixture in Ghana’s choral music scene. Their harmonious voices and spirited performances have earned them both national affection and international recognition.
Over the past 13 years, the choir has performed at a variety of events, including church services, concerts, and community gatherings. Their music has been a source of comfort, inspiration, and joy, and their unwavering commitment to using their talents to glorify God shines through in every performance.
The group’s continued success is rooted in the dedication and unity of its members, who have come together to share their passion for music and ministry.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the choir is currently on a European tour, participating in the 13th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival in Germany, which runs from July 2 to July 6, 2025.
In Germany, the group is visiting Wernigerode, Munich, and Hamburg. The tour also includes performances in Prague, Paris, Brussels, and Rome where they will conclude their journey in Italy.
Originally founded as the Celestial Evangel Choir–Ghana, the ensemble rebranded in 2022 to become the Kumasi Evangel Choir Ghana, a move aimed at embracing and promoting its cultural roots.
