The Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy, Augustus Goosie Tanoh, has announced that the much-anticipated policy will be officially launched on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
The 24-Hour Economy initiative aims to revolutionize Ghana’s productivity by transforming production systems—especially in agriculture—and strengthening the national value chain.
Built on three key pillars—Production Transformation, Supply Chain and Market Efficiency, and Human Capital Development—the policy will be driven by four core sub-programmes:
- Grow 24 – focusing on agriculture
- Make 24 – enhancing manufacturing
- Connect 24 – improving logistics and supply chains
- Aspire 24 – shifting the national mindset toward productivity and innovation
Mr. Tanoh revealed that digital technology training will be integrated into the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) curriculum to prepare youth for new employment opportunities created under the policy.
Additionally, a cultural component dubbed “Show Ghana” will highlight Ghana’s rich heritage to attract tourism and generate revenue.
In a related development, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, called for the establishment of a legal framework to ensure continuity of the 24-Hour Economy Policy beyond any change in government. He emphasized the importance of securing parliamentary approval through a bill to make the initiative nationally owned and sustainable.
Mr. Bagbin also underscored the policy’s potential to create significant employment opportunities across sectors.
