Adventist SHS Student Undergoes Successful Eye Surgery in UK After Accidental Shooting

Suzzy Adwoa Pinamang, a student of Adventist Senior High School in Kumasi, has undergone a successful eye surgery at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London following an accidental shooting incident at school.

Suzzy was accidentally shot in the eye by a classmate, an incident that drew national attention and sympathy. Her life-changing surgery, performed on June 2, 2025, was fully sponsored by the CEO of Engineers and Planners Ltd and Dzata Cement Ltd, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.

According to a statement from Rafik Mahama, Special Aide to Mr. Mahama, the procedure was a success, and Suzzy is steadily regaining her vision and independence. She is currently on the path to a full recovery.

The statement expressed heartfelt gratitude to the medical teams at Moorfields, Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Ghana High Commission in London, the UK High Commissioner to Ghana, and all who supported Suzzy throughout her journey.

Special appreciation was also extended to Ibrahim Mahama for his generosity, which made the surgery possible, as well as to the media and members of the public for their continued support.

Suzzy’s recovery journey continues, and she is expected to fully regain her sight with ongoing medical care and rehabilitation.
