Kwabena Amos, a gold buyer at Assin Ntow-Krom near Sienchem in the Assin North District, has praised the Central North Regional Police Command for their swift and tactical response during a violent robbery attack on his residence around midnight on Wednesday.

According to Mr. Amos, he was asleep when five armed robbers broke into his home, wielding a three-barrelled pump-action shotgun and machetes. The assailants reportedly fired at him eight times and inflicted a deep cutlass wound. One attacker also struck him in the face with the barrel of a gun, causing serious injury to his right eye.

His younger brother, also targeted during the assault, escaped unscathed despite being shot at. The family believes his survival was due to spiritual intervention, as the bullet failed to penetrate.

Upon receiving a distress call, officers from the Assin Fosu District Police Command swiftly moved to the scene. Their prompt and tactical response led to an exchange of gunfire, resulting in the arrest of three of the attackers.

Mr. Amos expressed profound gratitude to the police, describing their intervention as “timely and life-saving.”

Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt for the remaining suspects and reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety and fighting crime in the region.
