A violent incident has occurred in Akyem Mamanso in the Eastern Region, where two brothers, Nana Kwame and Paa Kwasi, allegedly attacked their family member, 25-year-old Emmanuel Agyekum (also known as Agyaba), with a cutlass and a gun.
The attack, which took place on Emmanuel’s father’s land, left him with a severed right hand.
According to reports, the suspects who are currently on the run attacked Emmanuel while he was asleep, without any known provocation.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at the New Abirem Government Hospital.
Emmanuel has denied any wrongdoing toward his brothers and is calling for both justice and an explanation for the unprovoked assault.
His mother, Madam Selina Amoah, expressed shock and dismay over the incident and is also demanding justice for her son.
The Mamansohene Kyeame, Nana Kwaku Asirifi, has urged the youth in the community to remain calm and has called on the Birim North Police to arrest the suspects and ensure they are brought to justice.
