A 27-year-old farmer, Kwaku Opare Tawiah, from Twifo Kwame Alert in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District, has been arrested by the Twifo Hemang Police Department for allegedly murdering a 75-year-old midwife and injuring three others, including his father, in a violent attack.
Reports gathered indicate that Kwaku Opare became enraged at his father for allegedly using sticks which was placed on his Cocoa-dryer stand to keep bags cement which belonged to the Pentecost church.
Kwaku Opare’s anger towards his father escalated into a violent reaction when he took his machete and butchered him mercilessly.
Two men who witnessed the attack and decided to rescue the man were also butchered as he extended his anger to them.
Upon fleeing the scene, a 75 year old woman who tried to stop and advice him from his deeds was also butchered and died instantly.
The community later apprehended him and handed him over to the authorities.
Some residents claimed that Kwaku Opare is a drug addict and could be the reason for his actions.
Meanwhile, the Central North Regional Crime Officer, ASP Alex Yirenkyi confirmed the report, noting that probing has been conducted and also urged the residents to remain calm as authorities work to ensure Justice is served.
