Running Mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on Thursday,8th August paid Courtesy call to the Denkyira Traditional council of the Upper Denkyira East constituency to seek for a word of wisdom and prayer as well as support from the Nananom and the good people of Dunkwa On-Offin in the coming elections.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) met the good people of Upper Denkyira East conveyed at the Odeefuor Boamponsem Chief’s Palace, with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations who’s also Lawmaker of the Upper Denkyira East constituency, Dr. Festus Awuah Kwoffie, Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ebenezer Appiah Forson, Representatives of the NPP from Upper Denkyira West, led by Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Rudolph Amoako Gyampah Members and some Leaders of the NPP in Upper Denkyira East, as well as high and mighty leaders of the Denkyira Traditional Council, led by Queen Mother of Denkyira, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III.
The Queen Mother Nana Ama Ayensua SaaraIII welcomed Dr. Opoku Prempeh into her humble land as a son of the soil.
She blessed and prayed for NAPO whom she called a grandson due to his maternal and bloodline relation.
The Queen mother mentioned some notable developments in the Upper Denkyira East that needs attention including main and inner roads and Bridges which is to be constructed for easy transport means.
She added that the issue of illegal mining is a rising concern to her as the traditional ruler, as farmers on her land have consistently complained about letters from above for their lands to be taken, she urged that Dr. NAPO if considered as a Vice President, should help in bringing a stable solution to all these problems.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh addressing the gathering, paid homage to the Leaders and Party faithfuls including all that were gathered as he expressed gratitude for massive support and solidarity in times of adversity.
He pleaded with the Traditional Leaders and Rulers to bless and remember him and his leader Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in all prayers ahead of 2024 general elections to be able to take the lead.
He also promised to put all measures in place from infrastructure to developmental projects to improve the constituency.
“Good people of Upper Denkyira East should take a critical look into the activities of the NPP for 8years, including all initiatives not leaving out digitalization and free Senior High School Education for all students. Gone are the days when students had to either drop out of school or one stays home for the other to proceed in terms of siblings, today it’s over and free school has come to stay”, he said.
Dr. Matthew pleaded with Nananom and party leaders to forgive him and the NPP in his speeches and activities if there’s been any offense.
Some Nananom said a prayer for the Running Mate as they told him to remember his roots in terms of office.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh after his interaction with the Traditional Council, publicly expressed his major gratitude and appreciation to faithful members and leaders of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and also pleaded with them to hold on to the faith and trust they’ve always shown to the party and never make anyone deceive them in to casting their votes to someone else.
“There’re people who’d come to your doorstep to mislead you into making the decision that will affect you and the entire country, think about the impact of Free SHS and all initiatives of the NPP to make sure of breaking the 8 on December 7th”, he added.
