MTN Business has awarded a total of GH¢160,000 in cash prizes and business support packages to 10 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The awards were presented under the MTN Business MSME Day Business Pitch Competition, organised through the SME Accelerate Programme, which brought together 10 promising Ghanaian businesses to showcase innovative ideas and their potential to contribute to job creation and economic growth.

The participating businesses included 10-10 Foodie, Awhenepa Cookery, Edible Treats, House of Lush, Manehlla Foods, Tahir Field Recycling, Tropical Snacks, Bubune Africa Limited, Dyluri Beauty and Lebenam Skin.

After a competitive pitching session, Tahir Field Recycling, Edible Treats, Dyluri Beauty, Manehlla Foods and Tropical Snacks emerged as the top five winners.

Each of the five winning businesses received GH¢30,000, amounting to a total cash award of GH¢150,000, alongside business support tools including Business Eye and MiFi devices to improve operational efficiency and digital connectivity.

The top three finalists will also participate in the MTN Business Mini MBA Programme, organised in partnership with Nova Business School, to equip them with practical management skills and enhance their capacity to grow sustainable businesses.

The other finalists will benefit from entrepreneurship and skills development training from E4 Impact to strengthen their business capabilities.

Although Tahir Field Recycling and Edible Treats recorded the highest scores in the competition, MTN Business awarded equal prize amounts to the five winners as part of its commitment to expanding opportunities for SMEs.

The remaining finalists 10-10 Foodie, Awhenepa Cookery, House of Lush, Bubune Africa Limited and Lebenam Skin received GH¢2,000 each, together with MTN business solutions including Y’ello Biz Routers, Business Eye solutions and other digital tools to support their growth.

Speaking at the event, the Senior Manager for SME Sales, Partnerships and Business Broadband at MTN Ghana, Mohamed Abubakar Siddiq, said the competition reflected MTN’s commitment to supporting the growth and sustainability of SMEs, which remain critical contributors to Ghana’s economic development.
