The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that its regional elections to elect party executives at the regional level will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026.
The General Secretary of the party, Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, said the elections would be conducted in line with the party’s established processes, beginning with the picking of nomination forms, followed by vetting, the filing of appeals, and campaign activities.
He explained that the regional elections would be preceded by regional youth and women’s conferences to elect youth and women leaders.
“Then the final one will be the date for the regional elections, which will be Saturday, 14th November and Sunday, November 16. So by the close of that Sunday, the party will be in a position to have all our regional executives,” Mr Kwetey said.
Mr Kwetey made the announcement at a press conference in Accra, where he outlined the party’s roadmap towards the 2028 general elections.
According to him, nominations for the regional elections will be opened from Tuesday, October 6, to Wednesday, October 7, 2026, while the filing of nomination forms will take place from Wednesday, October 14, to Thursday, October 15, 2026.
He said the vetting of aspirants would be conducted on Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17, with appeals scheduled for Sunday, October 18, and Monday, October 19, 2026.
The General Secretary indicated that the timelines were intended to ensure a smooth, transparent, and orderly electoral process as the party prepares for the 2028 general elections.
