Three people were grabbed for attempted double registration in Dunkwa-on-offin

The Upper Denkyira East Municipal Electoral Officer, Mr Mensah Boateng, has revealed that three people have been prevented from attempting to do double registration at the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

They were detected by the registration machines during the registration process.

He disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Abena Badu Adepa Kwofie, a News Anchor at Denkyiraman Radio.

According to him, 63 people were registered on the first day but three of them were nabbed from registering because they were below 18 years.
Mr Boateng continued that, they recorded 56 people on day two of the registration exercise.

The Municipal Electoral Officer, further indicated that, so far out of 119 people who have registered, three of them were seized from registering in an attempt to do double registration.

‘I asked my officers to tell those here to register that if anyone has already registered, he/she should not attempt registering again because the machines will detect them and they will be made to face the law’ but still they went ahead going through the process.

Initially, I wanted to hand them over to the police, but I warned them and allowed them to go.

He then warned all individuals who have already registered not to make any attempt to come and register.

Mr. Mensah concluded by saying that as its stance now he has not had any interference from any political party and also urged all Ghanaians who are 18 years and above but have not been already registered to do well and partake in the ongoing limited registration exercise.
