Former Assin Fosu NADMO Director, Samuel Kwakye, has taken two senior officials of the Assin Fosu Municipal Assembly to court for allegedly detaining his personal building materials.
He has sued the Assembly’s Storekeeper, Enock Osei Debrah, and the Municipal Coordinating Director, Saaka Ibrahim, accusing them of blocking his access to roofing sheets, wire mesh, and boxes of nails that he claims he purchased himself and stored at the Assembly during his time in office.
The dispute reportedly started after the 2024 elections, when concerns about political attacks on public warehouses led the Storekeeper to advise Mr. Kwakye to remove his belongings. However, he states that a group of NDC supporters prevented access to the stores.
He requests the court to declare him the rightful owner of the items, order their release, and award damages, including GH¢650 monthly rent he says he is still paying.
The case is scheduled to be heard on December 3, 2025.
