The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially reinstated Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in all public pre-tertiary schools across the country. This follows a directive from President John Dramani Mahama aimed at strengthening stakeholder participation in education.
In a press release issued on Thursday, July 17, the GES emphasized that the policy is designed to promote collaboration between parents, teachers, and communities, ultimately enhancing the delivery of quality education.
Heads of all public senior high, technical, and STEM schools have been instructed to implement the policy with immediate effect.
GES added that comprehensive guidelines on PTA structure, roles, and financial accountability will soon be issued to ensure transparency, consistency, and efficiency in implementation.
“The move is aimed at strengthening the collaboration and involvement of parents, communities, and teachers in the delivery of quality education to Ghanaian learners,” the statement said.
The Service is calling on all stakeholders to support the renewed policy to ensure its successful rollout and long-term impact.
