A 45-year-old farmer, Kwabena Asiedu, has been arrested by the Bibiani District Police for allegedly stabbing his 18-year-old daughter, Susana Asiedu, over her pregnancy.
The incident occurred at Sefwi Tanoso Praso in the Western North Region.
According to Susana, her father confronted her about her five-month pregnancy while she was still undergoing apprenticeship training. The confrontation reportedly escalated into a heated argument.
Kwabena Asiedu allegedly attacked Susana with a kitchen knife, stabbing her multiple times before fleeing the scene.
She was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital after losing consciousness.
Unit Committee Member Isaac Kyei Asante described the incident as shocking and raised concerns over the increasing cases of domestic violence in the community.
Kwabena Asiedu is currently in police custody. Authorities have assured that he will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing.
