Former Assin Central MP and prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has called on the party’s National Executives to grant unconditional amnesty to all suspended members, notably Paul Afoko and Alan Kyerematen.

Speaking during the NPP’s first stop of its National Thank You Tour at Takoradi Technical University, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong stressed the need for unity following the party’s poor performance in the 2024 elections.

“I call for amnesty to be granted to Paul Afoko, Alan Kyerematen, and every other suspended member of our party,” he stated.

He attributed part of the party’s defeat to the alienation of key figures and their supporters, suggesting that reconciliation is crucial to rebuilding the NPP’s strength.

In an uncharacteristically calm and conciliatory tone, the usually brazen politician apologized to any individuals who may have been offended by the party. He further urged members to set aside personal preferences and rivalries from the 2024 elections and work together to form a united front to recapture power.
