Regular check-ups are crucial to maintaining good health and preventing potential health issues. – Dr. Annan.

Dr. John Benjamin Annan, Medical Superintendent for the Dunkwa Municipal Hospital, is urging the general public to make regular visits to the hospital for routine check-ups. He emphasized that the days of self-care and people saying “I’m not sick so I don’t have to go to the hospital” are over.

Dr. Annan warned that the practice of self-diagnosis and treatment is a dangerous risk, as minor aches and irregular feelings can be early signs of critical health conditions. He recommended that individuals take advantage of the Wellness Clinic, a unit present in some hospitals, which enables people who are not sick to walk in and get checked to ensure that every organ and part of their body is functioning properly.

According to Dr. Annan, once a person starts regular check-ups, various scans and laboratory tests are carried out on the body. In some cases, critical health problems are discovered during these check-ups, which can then be treated at the main hospital.

Dr. Benjamin Annan advised that individuals should prioritize their health and make check-ups a part of their routine. He also recommended that people maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy, drinking clean water, and exercising regularly as part of routine check-up measures.
