A 14-apartment building at Dunkwa-Babianiha was gutted by fire on Wednesday night, destroying properties in the affected apartments.
ADO1 Osafo Gyasi, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality, disclosed this in an interview with Denkyiraman Radio. He said the Service received a distress call at about 2142 hours and immediately dispatched firefighters to the scene.
He said the firefighters managed to save a storey building and some other belongings from being consumed by the fire. ADO1 Gyasi stated that the cause of the fire was yet to be established, as investigations were ongoing. He advised residents to equip their homes with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers to facilitate early detection and response to fire outbreaks.
