The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has refuted recent media reports that the central bank is considering the sale of its newly constructed headquarters.

Management of the regulator in a press release described the report which was published by DenkyiramanRadio.com, titled “Bank of Ghana considering sale of new $260m headquarters sources,” as both “false and misleading”.

The Bank explicitly stated that there are no discussions, considerations, or plans to divest from the facility.

The central bank emphasized the importance of the new headquarters, noting that it was commissioned specifically to support its core operations and to improve efficiency in fulfilling its statutory mandate.

Consequently, the Bank maintains that the building remains a critical asset.

The Bank of Ghana further expressed concern that the circulation of such unverified information could lead to unnecessary market uncertainty and potentially undermine public confidence in the nation’s financial system.

The institution has urged the media and the public to disregard the report and encouraged journalists to seek official clarification from the Bank before publishing stories regarding its operations.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, the Bank reminded stakeholders that all official communications are issued exclusively through their official communication channels.
