At least 15 persons have been confirmed dead following a head-on collision between a Ford Transit bus and an ambulance on the Kumasi–Sunyani road.
The Ford Transit, with registration number GT 5676-19, was travelling from Kumasi to Drobo when it reportedly collided with an ambulance conveying a pregnant woman from Brobo to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for emergency medical attention.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that all 15 passengers aboard the Ford Transit died instantly at the scene.
The condition of the pregnant woman and other occupants of the ambulance had not been officially confirmed at the time of filing this report.
The bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to the Mankranso Hospital morgue, while investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
