The Ministry of Education has officially opened the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal for candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Out of 590,000 candidates, a total of 483,800 students have been successfully placed in various Senior High Schools across the country, while 107,509 candidates are yet to be matched.

Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, urged students who were not placed to use the self-placement portal to select from schools with available slots. He noted that solution centres have also been established nationwide to assist students experiencing challenges with the process.

Dr. Apaak further cautioned parents and guardians against paying money to secure placements, stressing that the entire process is completely free.

“The Ministry of Education and the Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, wish to reiterate that placement is free. No parent or guardian should pay money to any individual whether a ministry official or a third party for placement. Anyone soliciting payments must be reported to the police or the Office of the Special Prosecutor,” he warned.
