The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, Hon. Isaac Yawson, has stressed the importance of sanitation as a critical step in reducing preventable diseases in the district.
Speaking during a clean-up exercise at Morkwa Sibinso, Hon. Yawson encouraged residents to take personal responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean. He explained that maintaining a healthy environment would not only improve the well-being of the people but also ease government’s financial burden on healthcare. He further advised households to adopt proper waste disposal methods, including burning refuse where necessary, rather than depending solely on Zoomlion services.
Beyond sanitation, the DCE called for unity among residents, noting that development thrives when communities rise above partisan politics and work together for progress. The Assembly Member for Morkwa Sibinso, George Frimpong, commended the DCE for sustaining President John Mahama’s clean-up initiative and pledged continued support from assembly members to advance the district’s development.
