The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, was on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, arraigned before the Circuit Court in Accra by the Ghana Police Service.
After a brief hearing, the court ordered that Abronye be remanded into police custody. He is expected to reappear before the court on Friday, September 12, 2025. The specific charges against him are yet to be made public.
Abronye’s arrest has attracted wide public interest, given his reputation as an outspoken political figure known for his controversial statements and activism.
