A domestic dispute in Anum, a farming community in the Assin North District of the Central Region, turned violent on Sunday dawn when a 41-year-old man, Wahibu Bukari, allegedly shot his wife, Faustina Ackom, 35.
The incident reportedly occurred after Bukari found unfamiliar contact numbers on Faustina’s phone, sparking suspicions of infidelity. She sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving emergency care at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu.
Bukari fled the scene immediately after the shooting and remains at large. Residents believe he may attempt to escape through Assin Fosu, Kushia, or Twifo Praso. Meanwhile, a team from the Assin Fosu Divisional Police Command has visited the victim at the hospital to assess her condition and gather information.
The couple has been married for over a decade and share four children.
