In a major show of support, more than 490 Youth Organisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) including substantive and deputy leaders from constituencies nationwide have unanimously endorsed former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s January 2026 presidential primary. The endorsement was sealed at a strategic meeting on July 29, 2025, where delegates praised Dr Bawumia’s “exceptional leadership, proven track record, and clear vision for Ghana’s future.”
The coalition, which includes all Regional Youth Organisers and most polling station youth leaders, lauded Dr Bawumia’s “unwavering dedication to national development, digital transformation, sound economic reforms, and youth empowerment.” As part of their commitment, members will mobilise to collect his nomination forms on Wednesday, August 13, at 9:00 a.m., and pledged to launch a nationwide grassroots movement in his support.
Urging “all well-meaning Ghanaians, especially the youth,” to back Dr Bawumia, the organisers stressed that their decision was more than political. “This is not just an endorsement it is a solemn commitment to shaping a better future for the next generation,” the coalition said in a statement after the meeting.
