The Ministry of Health has disbursed GHS462 million to support the training allowances of 120,000 nursing students across the country.
The payment, which covers six months, is part of the government’s broader initiative to provide financial support to students in Nursing Training Colleges.
According to the Ministry, the disbursement fulfills a campaign promise by President John Dramani Mahama and marks a significant step toward improving the welfare of nursing trainees while encouraging more youth to pursue healthcare careers.
The Ministry expressed appreciation to the President for honoring his commitment and also acknowledged the efforts of key stakeholders who helped facilitate the release of the funds.
It reaffirmed its dedication to working with nursing institutions to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare education and build a stronger, more resilient health sector.
