The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, has cautioned members of the newly inaugurated GoldBod Taskforce against abusing their authority, stressing that unprofessional conduct will not be tolerated.

Speaking at the taskforce’s inauguration ceremony, Mr. Gyamfi emphasized that the team has been fully resourced to enforce ethical gold trading and ensure strict compliance with existing laws.

“We expect nothing but professionalism and patriotism from them,” he said, pledging full institutional backing for officers who act in good faith.

He issued a strong warning to any members who may attempt to misuse their positions, stating that anyone who brings the name of the government or nation into disrepute “will be dealt with ruthlessly.”

Mr. Gyamfi also called for public support especially from players in the gold trading industry and urged them to operate within the law. He noted that industry cooperation is critical to the success of the taskforce’s mandate.

To enhance transparency and reduce corruption, the GoldBod CEO announced the rollout of a new digital licensing system, aimed at eliminating bribery, extortion, and administrative bottlenecks.

He concluded by encouraging all Ghanaians to rally behind the initiative, stressing that the taskforce’s success hinges on a collective national effort to sanitize and formalize the gold industry.
