Member of Parliament for Abetifi ,Dr. Bryan Acheampong has formally informed former President John Agyekum Kufuor of his intention to contest for the party’s presidential flagbearership scheduled for January 31, next year.
The visit was part of Dr. Acheampong’s ongoing consultations with key NPP stakeholders as he prepares to officially launch his campaign.
During the meeting, he expressed deep appreciation for former President Kufuor’s immense contributions to the party and the nation, acknowledging his enduring legacy as a respected leader.
Dr. Acheampong, who has served in various strategic roles under the Akufo-Addo administration, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the NPP and stated that he believes the time is right to lead the party.
He cited his extensive public service and contributions to the party’s growth as a strong foundation for the leadership responsibility he now seeks to assume.
According to him, his decision to contest is driven by a desire to provide pragmatic leadership and to restore confidence among the party’s grassroots supporters.
