President John Dramani Mahama has directed all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to declare their assets by July 15, 2025, in accordance with the 1992 Constitution.

Speaking at an orientation and training programme for MMDCEs in Accra, the President underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in public office. He reminded the officials that asset declaration is a legal and ethical obligation aimed at preventing corruption and building public trust.

“I wish to remind you that you are among the office holders required to declare your assets, and so I expect that by July 15, all of you will have declared your assets,” President Mahama stated.

He further warned that any MMDCE who fails to comply will face appropriate sanctions, noting that he has already enforced the declaration policy among all his appointees since taking office in January 2025.

The directive forms part of the President’s broader efforts to promote clean governance and restore public confidence in state institutions.
