A tragic incident has occurred in Edwenasi, Ashanti Region, where 25-year-old Nicholas Apotei took his own life following a recent breakup with his girlfriend, Perpetual, a resident of Bekwai.
According to reports, the couple’s relationship ended abruptly about a week ago. Despite Nicholas’s efforts to reconcile, Perpetual reportedly refused to resume the relationship.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Nicholas, deeply affected by the breakup, began expressing suicidal thoughts shortly after the separation.
Sadly, those warnings became a reality when Nicholas was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his kitchen, having used a noose to end his life. His iPhone 16 Pro Max was found placed on a cabinet in front of him.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death and have invited Perpetual to assist with their inquiries.
The incident has left the Edwenasi community in shock and renewed concerns about the importance of mental health support during emotionally difficult times.
