George Anane Coleman Confirmed as Upper Denkyira East MCE

A 12‑member delegation appointed by the government to supervise the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) election in Upper Denkyira East was sworn in by His Honour Yaw Opoku Acheampong at the Dunkwa‑On‑Offin Assembly Hall.

The delegation then joined 29 assembly members to vote on the MCE nominee, Hon. George Anane Coleman.

Mr. Rudolph Chirey, head of the Electoral Commission in Upper Denkyira East, declared George Anane Coleman as MCE‑elect after he secured 37 “Yes” votes (90.2%) to 4 “No” votes (9.8%) out of 41 votes cast.

His Honour Yaw Opoku Acheampong formally inducted the new MCE into office, administering the constitutional oath.

In his first address, the newly sworn‑in MCE thanked the National Democratic Congress both nationally and locally for entrusting him with the opportunity to serve the constituency. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Hon. Anane Coleman expressed heartfelt thanks to the assembly members and party faithful who supported his candidacy.

He pledged to approach his new role with dedication and thoroughness, ensuring that the constituency’s goals are met and its full potential is realized.
