Former NPP MP for the Lower West Akyim, Gifty Klenam has made a shocking move to the NDC, sending ripples through Ghana’s political scene.
This significant defection is expected to impact the country’s political dynamics, given her influential role in the NPP during her time in Parliament.
The former MP publicly announced her decision in the early hours of Thursday, January 30, 2025, after obtaining her NDC membership card in the Anlo Constituency of the Volta Region.
Addressing the press, Klenam stressed that the NDC aligns with her personal values and urged other disillusioned NPP members to be bold and swiftly move.
“Upon consultation with my family, I decided to join the NDC because it aligns with my values and vision for mother Ghana,” she stated.
She’s backing the NDC’s 2024 manifesto as the ultimate roadmap for Ghana’s growth, trusting that John Dramani Mahama’s vision will bring about real change and prosperity for the people.
