The Church of Pentecost, Dunkwa Area has lunched the “Be an agent of peace”. Campaign to educate all stakeholders of the need to safeguard the peace Ghana was enjoying.
The program which started today 16th October and ends on the 7th of December, aims at promoting peace and stability among the various party’s members and the people of Dunkwa municipality at large, during and after elections.
The “Be an agent of peace” program took place at the Pentecost church with notable dignitaries within the municipality.
The Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in Dunkwa Offin, Apostle Dr. Onyina Gyamfi, also addressing the media said God had been faithful and gracious to the country in many areas.
He advised the youth of Upper Denkyira East ahead of the general election, to desist from violence.
He andacknowledged how The Church of Pentecost was recognized for its peace-building initiatives and promised that the church would continue to position itself as a moral voice in the country.
He noted that the campaign is designed to encourage Ghanaians to engage in respectful and constructive dialogue rather than divisive rhetoric also allowing themselves to be used by political parties for destruction in exchange of money which isn’t worth their lives.
Apostle Dr. Onyinah Gyamfi, urged Ghanaians to go to their various polling stations and vote for their preferred candidates and go home in peace.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira East, Hon. Ebenezer Appiah Forson urged political parties and Stakeholders to protect and maintain the peace and stability already existing in the country.
According to him,Ghana never recorded any civil war since independence therefore he appeals to political parties to preach peace in their quest for power.
The campaign to seek peace during the elections was attended by various political parties, Security personnel, traditional leaders, some youth groups, Electoral Commission, National Commission for Civic Education, and members of the church.
The church also prayed for the country.
