Controller To Delete Gov’t Workers Without Ghana Card Names

In the quest to enhance sanity and eliminate imaginary entries in the public sector, Mr. Kwasi Kwaning Bosompem, the Controller General and Accountant General has announced that his department will fight “payroll ghosts” in various public sectors.

Mr. Kwasi Kwaning while addressing the annual conference of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department in Kumasi warned individuals who have not linked their Ghana card to the payroll system else be ready for their names to be expunged from the payroll database.

“If you don’t have a National Identity Card, very soon your salary will be disconnected” he cautioned.
He also emphasized that even if the NIA card is missing, the individual’s name remains on the database.

On the other side, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah, the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office who was present at the conference stressed a collective effort by public sector workers to combat corruption.

Representing Vice President Dr. Bawumia was Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah who commended the Accountant General’s Office for its significant development and also urged that digitalization be implemented in all sectors.
