The Chief Executive Officer of Denkyiraman Radio, Hon. Akwasi Agyeman, together with the Board of Directors, has expressed gratitude to staff, clients and loyal listeners for their unwavering support, commitment and trust, which have sustained and elevated the station over the past five years.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on National Agenda with CJ on Monday during the official launch of the station’s fifth anniversary celebrations, Hon. Agyeman reflected on the journey of Denkyiraman Radio and its growing influence on communities, businesses and socio-economic activities within Dunkwa-On-Offin and surrounding areas.
He said the station’s progress over the years had been made possible through the competent leadership of management and the dedication and sacrifices of staff, whose collective efforts had positioned Denkyiraman Radio as a trusted voice and reliable source of information in the area.
Hon. Agyeman expressed optimism about the future and noted that the years ahead presented greater opportunities for the station to deepen its impact on the lives of residents through purposeful programming, community engagement and public service.
He highlighted a number of social interventions undertaken by the station, including a partnership with the Lady Mart Foundation to organise a “Widows’ Night” programme to support vulnerable persons in society.
He added that in 2022, Denkyiraman Radio donated more than 70 bags of cement towards the reconstruction of a school building destroyed by fire.
Touching on the establishment of the station, Hon. Agyeman disclosed that his late mother, Mrs Martha Owusu, encouraged him to establish the radio station to create employment opportunities for the youth in the area.
He said she sadly passed away a few months after the station was established.
Board member Mr Patrick Kyei also expressed appreciation to clients and listeners, stating that their loyalty and trust continued to serve as the foundation of the station’s growth and resilience.
Mr Kyei highlighted some of the station’s community outreach initiatives, including blood donation exercises organised in support of the Dunkwa Municipal Hospital and the presentation of gifts to mothers during Mother’s Day celebrations.
He said the initiatives reflected the station’s commitment to giving back to society and strengthening its relationship with the community it serves.
The management and board assured stakeholders of their commitment to introducing new and impactful programmes to serve the public interest, promote development and strengthen the station’s role as a leading voice in the community as it marks five years of operation.
