The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will hold its National Delegates Conference on Saturday, December 19, 2026, to elect new national party executives.

The General Secretary of the party, Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, said the internal elections would be conducted using a bottom-to-top approach, beginning at the branch level, progressing through the constituency and regional structures, and culminating at the national level.

Mr Kwetey made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday, where he outlined the party’s roadmap towards the 2028 general elections.

He said the filing of nominations for the national executive positions would take place from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9, 2026, while the vetting of aspirants is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, 2026.

According to him, appeals will be heard on Sunday, November 15, and Monday, November 16, 2026.

Mr Kwetey further disclosed that the party’s national youth and women’s conference would be held on Saturday, December 12, 2026, ahead of the main congress.

“That congress will happen on Saturday, the 19th December, 2026,” he said.

The General Secretary explained that the exercise forms part of the party’s broader efforts to reorganise and strengthen its structures in preparation for the 2028 general elections.

“So that completes the very important edifice that is supposed to prepare for the next round of fighting for power in the country and also ensure that we continue the good job that we are doing,” Mr Kwetey added.
