The campaign of Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong, NPP flagbearer hopeful, is gathering momentum as he intensifies his constituency tour across the Eastern Region.
At his latest stop in Achiase, Dr. Acheampong addressed the much-publicised press conference by the Bawumia camp, which announced that 15 out of the region’s 23 MPs had endorsed the former Vice President.
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd of delegates, he dismissed the significance of the MPs’ endorsement, insisting that the real power in the January 2026 flagbearer contest rests with the party’s grassroots.
“There are 20,000 strong delegates in this region who will vote. Fifteen MPs pale in comparison. It is the base of the party that counts and that base is with me,” he declared to rapturous applause.
Delegates in Achiase openly affirmed their confidence in his candidacy, pledging overwhelming support to secure victory in their constituency home to Hon. Kofi Marfo, leader of the very 15-MP group backing Dr. Bawumia.
For Dr. Acheampong, the rousing display of grassroots support reinforces his message that the campaign is not about parliamentary endorsements but about reconnecting the NPP with its rank and file.
He reiterated his vision of inclusiveness and renewal, promising to empower the party’s base and ensure that no delegate is left behind.
As the NPP moves toward its January 2026 primaries, Bryan Acheampong is positioning himself as the candidate of the people — grounded in the strength of the delegates and determined to lead the party into a united and victorious 2028.
