The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Upper Denkyira East, Hon. George Anane Coleman, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to reclaiming abandoned galamsey pits and reshaping roads across the municipality to improve safety and accessibility.

He explained that the uncovered mining pits pose grave dangers to human lives, farmlands, and the environment, stressing the urgent need for reclamation. On infrastructure, he emphasized that road reshaping remains a key priority to facilitate movement and boost local development.

In a radio interview with Mr. Enoch Otoo on National Agenda, Hon. Coleman also appealed to residents to actively participate in the upcoming National Sanitation Day exercise scheduled for Saturday, 6th September 2025, noting that community involvement is vital for sustaining a clean and healthy environment.

He underscored that lasting development can only be achieved when government and citizens work hand in hand to address environmental and infrastructural challenges.
