The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of NPP National Chairman.
In an interview on Wontumi TV, he attributed his decision to spiritual conviction, stating that he had “consulted God” and received divine affirmation to pursue the role. “I’ve prayed for God’s favor and for people to support me. I’m asking Him to help me achieve this dream in 2028, so we can take power,” he said.
Chairman Wontumi expressed confidence that the NPP will reclaim power in the 2028 general elections under his leadership. He added that he will officially launch his campaign at the appropriate time.
“When the time comes, I will also go and pick forms and apply as a contestant for the position of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party. And with all due respect, I will bring my contributions and experience to facelift the NPP and bring us victory in 2028,” he stated.
