The appointments underscore the growing ambition of Ghanaian clubs to tap into international expertise as they seek domestic success and qualification for continental competitions.
Defending champions Gold Stars FC have appointed Greek tactician Petros Koukouras to lead their title defence. He succeeds after the club’s historic league triumph last season, which also secured qualification for African club competition.
Koukouras will be expected to consolidate the club’s domestic success while guiding its maiden continental campaign.
Record Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko SC have named South African coach Eric Tinkler as head coach.
Tinkler arrives with extensive coaching experience and is expected to restore the Porcupine Warriors to the summit of Ghanaian football after recent seasons failed to meet the club’s expectations. His appointment reflects Kotoko’s determination to compete for both the league title and other major honours.
Heart of Lions have also appointed Turkish coach Kasım Gökyıldız as head coach.
The Kpando-based club believes his international experience and tactical expertise will help the team build on its recent progress and challenge the league’s established contenders.
The appointments are expected to introduce new tactical approaches, modern training methods and diverse football philosophies, reflecting a growing trend among Ghana Premier League clubs to invest in international technical expertise.
