The quiet community of Breman Benin in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central Region has been thrown into a state of shock and mourning after a 65-year-old woman, Madam Abena Gladys, was gruesomely murdered by her nephew, identified as Kojo Sam.
According to reports, the horrific incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. when the suspect allegedly forced his way into the victim’s room armed with a pestle. He reportedly attacked her multiple times, dragged her outside, and fatally stabbed and beheaded her.
Residents say the suspect had, on several occasions, threatened his aunt during previous family disagreements. However, relatives reportedly resolved the disputes amicably without involving the police.
After committing the act, Kojo Sam fled the scene, but swift police investigations led to his arrest later in the day. He is currently in police custody assisting with further investigations.
