A 61-year-old traditional healer who was reported missing has been found unconscious with serious injuries in a bush near Assin Kushia in the Assin North District of the Central Region.
The victim, Christian Etse Dosey, a traditional healer and palm wine tapper, was discovered on Friday, June 12, 2026, bringing an end to an intensive three-day search by family members, residents, and traditional leaders.
According to relatives, Mr. Dosey left home on Wednesday, June 10, after indicating that he was on his way to deliver herbal medicine to a client. When he failed to return later that day, concern grew among family members, prompting a search operation.
As efforts to trace his whereabouts intensified, community members joined forces with traditional authorities to search nearby communities and forested areas. Traditional rites, including drumming, were also performed as part of the search process.
The search ended on Friday when Mr. Dosey was found lying unconscious in a bush with multiple injuries. Reports indicate he suffered wounds to the neck, a fractured arm, and other injuries suspected to have resulted from an attack.
He was initially treated at a health facility in Assin Kushia before being transferred to St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu, where he remains under medical care.
The matter has been reported to the Assin Praso District Police Command, which has launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
Speaking to the media, the victim’s brother, Daniel Dosey, expressed shock over the incident and appealed to the police to conduct a thorough investigation.
Meanwhile, family members and residents are calling on law enforcement authorities to act swiftly and ensure that anyone connected to the alleged attack is brought to justice.
