The Police at Twifo Praso have launched investigations into a tragic incident at Twifo Denyase Camp in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region, which left two persons dead and another in critical condition.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at about 8:00 am, when a 30-year-old man, identified as Hormeku Agbemor, allegedly attacked a 62-year-old woman and her daughter with a cutlass.
The deceased woman was identified as Baby Abienor.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect, who reportedly lived in the same house with the victims, suddenly turned violent and inflicted multiple deep wounds on them.
Baby Abienor died on the spot, while her daughter, identified only as Gladys, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby CHPS compound before being referred to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu for further treatment.
A Police source said officers who arrived at the scene, a wooden structure belonging to The Apostolic Church Ghana, found the body of Baby Abienor lying face down in a pool of blood with deep wounds on her neck and arm.
The source said the body of the suspect was also found about 15 metres away, with his hands and legs tied and blood stains on his face.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the suspect might have been lynched by some residents after the attack.
The Police said the incident began when the suspect allegedly exhibited abnormal behaviour and verbally attacked the victims.
It said the deceased woman attempted to alert a church elder, but by the time the elder arrived, she had already died.
The suspect was allegedly seen holding a cutlass and pleading for forgiveness.
The Police have documented the crime scene and conveyed the bodies of the deceased woman and the suspect to the Twifo Atti-Morkwa Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
