A former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East and former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, who currently serves at the Office of the UN Secretary-General, has described the behavior of the Appointment Committee as irresponsible.

She opined that members of Parliament are proponents of law and good behavior; therefore, they should “walk the talk.”

Speaking recently about her purported snub by President Mahama regarding his appointments, she stressed that she saw it coming because both she and her sister, Gizella, could not expect appointments in Mahama’s planned lean government.

Commenting on the recent impasse in Parliament, she emphasized that being conferred the title “Honorable” is not just a designation but a responsibility to exhibit the highest standards of conduct—something she, along with many Ghanaians, expects from MPs.

Ms. Hannah Tetteh also made it clear that she has no presidential or vice-presidential ambitions for 2025, as she wants to focus on her service to the United Nations.
