The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East Constituency and Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Dr Festus Awuah Kwofie donated 2,348 mathematical sets to all BECE candidates in his constituency continuing a useful initiative implemented by him since last year, 2023.
The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Ebenezer Forson Appiah presented the items to the District Education Director, on behalf of the Member of Parliament at a short handing over ceremony at Presby Basic School on Friday, June 28.
The Education Director, Mr. Anthony Takyi received the gift and acknowledged the importance of the MP,s initiative.
He stated that most students go to the extent of sharing mathematical sets with their mates at the examination hall because they couldn’t afford one.
Therefore each student having their own sets would enable them present their minds and have confidence as well as concentration to face the task ahead.
Some students present at the ceremony thanked the Municipal Chief Executive and Dr Festus for putting their educational needs first, as they expressed gratitude for the items.
This will help us concentrate during exams, especially when it’s time for maths and science and also make us save money for other things.
We hope that Dr.Festus will continue to make education his priority as he has done”, one student said.
