The Electoral Commission of Ghana has scheduled Tuesday, 30th December 2025, for the rerun of the Parliamentary Election in the Kpandai Constituency.

The decision follows a ruling by the Tamale High Court on Monday, 24th November 2025, ordering that the election be conducted again within 30 days. The Commission acted after receiving official communication from the Clerk to Parliament on 9th December 2025, confirming that the Kpandai seat had been declared vacant.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the EC announced that only the three aspirants who contested the 2024 Parliamentary Election in Kpandai will be eligible to participate in the rerun. The Commission explained that retaining the original candidates ensures continuity in the disputed electoral process and provides voters a consistent basis on which to make their choice.

The statement, signed by Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director at the EC’s Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department, urged the public particularly voters in the constituency to take note of the new date and prepare accordingly.

The EC reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a transparent, fair, and credible process, assuring stakeholders of an electoral exercise anchored on integrity.
