At the launch of the 2025 Central Expo, renowned educator and former Central Regional Minister, Professor Kojo Yankah, called on traditional leaders and community influencers to go beyond celebrating the region’s elite schools. He urged them to ensure that every child has genuine access to educational opportunities, stressing that development must be rooted in inclusive learning.
Delivering the keynote address on the theme “Unlocking Opportunities in the Central Region,” Prof. Yankah expressed concern about the rising rate of school dropouts despite the presence of top-quality institutions. He emphasized that progress could only be achieved through collective responsibility and strategic resource allocation, making education the cornerstone of regional development planning.
Also addressing the event, Cynthia Dzokoto, Director for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, speaking on behalf of the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, reiterated government’s commitment to a 24-hour economy. She encouraged tourism stakeholders to offer round-the-clock services at heritage sites such as the castles and reaffirmed support for the Made-in-Ghana initiative to boost local industries and create sustainable jobs.
