Hon. George Anane Coleman, the newly nominated Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Upper Denkyira East, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leadership and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the trust reposed in him.
“I was overwhelmed and dumbfounded by the news from the President, as there were many deserving candidates. For the President to nominate me is a great privilege and honor, and I’m grateful for that,” he said.
Mr. Coleman also extended appreciation to Hon. Emelia Ankomah, Member of Parliament for the constituency, and Hon. Festus Awuah Kwoffie, the former MP, for their congratulatory messages and support.
In his address, he emphasized the importance of inclusivity in governance, stating:
“Everybody will be involved in the development agenda and initiative of the NDC, and I believe that’s how we can succeed — so we will do it together.”
Outlining his key priority areas, Mr. Coleman promised to focus on:
• Education: Improving educational standards and opportunities for students.
• Sanitation: Enhancing cleanliness and public health within the municipality.
• Health: Developing healthcare infrastructure and improving access to quality care.
• Agriculture: Supporting local farmers and tackling rising food prices.
Addressing recent concerns over inflation, especially food prices, he noted:
“The people of Dunkwa have been complaining of price hikes in food, and I will make sure to work with the farmer to curb the prices.”
He pledged to work closely with NDC leadership and the community to ensure 100% productivity and meaningful development in Upper Denkyira East if confirmed for the role.
