Gomoa East District of the Central Region, where a young life has been lost in a devastating accident.
Nurudeen Abubakar, a 10-year-old boy, met his untimely death after drowning in the Salt Lake at Gomoa Nyanyano.
Information gathered from Adom News indicates Nurudeen went missing on Wednesday after returning from school.
His body was discovered on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
The Assemblymember for the Upper Nyanyano electoral area, Isaac Quansah, gave details of the incident in an interview with Adom News.
Mr. Quansah stated that the body has been deposited at the Mother and Child Hospital morgue for preservation.
The Ghana police have also launched an investigation into the incident.
In the wake of this devastating incident, the Assemblyman is calling on parents to be extra vigilant and keep a close eye on their children’s activities, especially when they’re near water bodies.
