OSP Declares Ken Ofori-Atta Wanted Over Financial Crimes Investigations

The Office of the Special Prosecutor has essentially issued a wanted notice for Ken Ofori-Atta, the former Finance Minister, indicating that he’s a person of interest in several ongoing investigations.

This move suggests that the authorities believe he may be trying to evade them or flee the country, and they’re taking steps to bring him in for questioning.

According to reports, the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, has confirmed that Ofori-Atta is wanted in connection with four cases under investigation, and the OSP had previously raided his home, despite being informed that he was out of the country for medical treatment.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng said “The fugitive’s name is Kenneth Ofori-Atta”.

The Special Prosecutor has essentially put out a wanted notice for Ken Ofori-Atta, citing his alleged role in causing significant financial losses to the state through various dealings, notably the construction of the National Cathedral and the Ghana Revenue Authority’s partnership with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML).
