President Mahama has given Ghanaians a breath of fresh air, promising that his administration is on top of things to prevent those dreaded power outages, or “dumsor”, from happening.
President Mahama speaking during the swearing in for newly appointed ministers assured that his administration has taken bold steps to secure a stable energy sector, guaranteeing uninterrupted power supply, despite the hurdles left behind by the previous government.
“As you may all be aware, the previous government did not work to ensure a smooth running of the energy sector by neglecting to arrange enough fuel to power our thermal plant.
This was because of the known scheduled maintenance work that was expected to be placed on the West Africa Gas Pipeline (WAPCo) which is responsible for bringing in significant gas that we have in our eastern enclave.
“Through determined efforts, I can report that we have now averted the looming threats of power outages and began delivering fuel to the thermal plant in the east in advance of the shutdown of the WAPCo gas pipeline,” he noted.
President Mahama officially welcomed new ministers to his team, including Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Finance Minister, Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General, and John Jinapor as Minister for Energy and Green Transition, after they received parliamentary approval.
The other ministers sworn in by President Mahama are Haruna Iddrisu, who’s taking the helm at the “Ministry of Education”, Eric Opoku, who’s overseeing the “Ministry of Food and Agriculture”, and _Governs Kwame Agbodza, responsible for the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
