A search is currently underway for two armed robbery suspects who fled with gold and other stolen items in Manso Watreso, located in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.
Reports indicate that the suspects attacked community mining workers who were returning home from work. Kofi Mensah, the Assembly Member for the Manso Watreso Electoral Area, revealed that the robbers stole over 30 pounds of gold, keys to a pickup truck, and more than GH¢11,000 in cash from the miners.
During the incident, two of the robbers were apprehended by residents after an alarm was raised and were subsequently lynched. However, the other two suspects managed to escape with the stolen items.
The Assembly Member informed the media that the incident has been reported to the police. The bodies of the deceased robbers have been deposited in the morgue, and an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
